Well, we’re half way through our six-episode run for Season One, and we’re making some decisions as to what to do next.
There are a number of options. We could do some specials based on classic horror stories, in the ITG style; we could try to find new short stories that fit with what we are doing and adapt some of those as specials (or a short series). We’re also thinking of putting together a book of the Minigloams and scripts for Season One, with new introductions and explanatory notes, but are not sure if anyone would want one. There is also, of course, the option of developing a live show.
Anyway, we’d love to have your thoughts as to what you think we should be doing when the first season ends in March.
I like the idea of you doing new versions of old classics.
Yes, me too. I think we’ll probably do a couple of specials (at least one classic and one based on a story by someone other than me) over the summer, and aim to start a second season at Hallowe’en.
Assuming we’re not all over the actual airwaves by then.
An affectionate send-up of some of the classics would get my vote (say, Lovecraft or MR James).
I’d also love to see you guys collaborate on a story with one of the current wave of up-and-coming young british horror writers.
Good luck with getting on the airwaves! I can imaging ITG fitting quite nicely into a late night ‘Tales of The Unexpected’ TV format.
Thanks for your votes, we do have one contemporary British horror writer we’re talking to about adapting. That’s something we’ll probably do as a special over the summer.
We’re also hitting actual airwaves for the first time tomorrow night, when Dead Skinny is broadcast as part of CKDU 88.1FM’s The Sonic Society. In Nova Scotia…
I hate to be the voice of dissension..but I absolutely love what you’ve been doing.
It’s fresh, original and the most hilarious example of Black comedy that I’ve seen come down the pike.
You have not failed yet to give me a giggle.
Thank you, Rosanna, and don’t worry, we’re not going to be moving away from this completely. I was just wondering what we should do until we start the second season in October.
(And feel free to dissent so delightfully any time…)
